Why Parents Choose Rahman School for Their Kids
Teachers Who Know How to Teach Children
Teaching the Quran to a 5-year-old is not the same as teaching an adult. It takes patience, creativity, and genuine warmth. Our teachers are not just Quran scholars — they are trained and experienced in working with young children. They use stories from the Quran, letter games, colour activities, and gentle encouragement to keep your child engaged.
Your Child Gets 100% Attention
In a group class, your child might sit quietly and never get corrected. In a one-to-one class, every minute is about them. The teacher hears every letter, corrects every mistake, and celebrates every achievement. This is why our students progress faster than in traditional madrasa settings.
A Safe Learning Environment
Your child’s safety comes first. Every class happens on Zoom with a waiting room. Only the teacher and your child are in the session. You can sit in on any class at any time — no permission needed. Teachers are not allowed to contact students through personal channels. Everything goes through Rahman School.
Female Teachers for Girls
Many parents want a female teacher for their daughters. We have experienced Ustadhat who specialise in teaching young girls. Your daughter will learn in a comfortable, all-female environment where she can feel at ease.
Times That Fit Around School
After school. Before dinner. Weekend mornings. We offer classes 7 days a week with flexible scheduling. If your child has an exam week or a school holiday, you can pause or reschedule — no penalties.
What Your Child Will Learn
We design each child’s learning plan based on their age, current level, and goals. Here is what a typical learning journey looks like:
Stage 1: Arabic Letters and Nooraniyah (Ages 4-6 / Beginners)
Your child learns to recognise and pronounce each Arabic letter correctly. We use the Nooraniyah method with colourful visuals and repetition exercises. By the end of this stage, your child can sound out basic Quran words.
Typical duration: 3-6 months (2-3 classes per week)
Stage 2: Quran Reading with Tajweed (Ages 6+ / Post-Nooraniyah)
Your child begins reading the Quran from the Mushaf. The teacher introduces Tajweed rules gradually — starting with the easy rules and building up. Your child reads, the teacher listens and corrects, and together they build fluency.
Typical duration: 6-12 months to read confidently with basic Tajweed
Stage 3: Memorisation and Deepening (Ages 7+ / Confident Readers)
Once your child reads well, they can begin memorising Surahs. We start with Juz Amma and work upward. Daily revision is built into every class to ensure strong retention. Some students go on to memorise the entire Quran.
Typical duration: Ongoing — depends on the child’s pace and goals
Alongside: Short Surahs, Duas, and Islamic Manners
At every stage, we teach your child short Surahs for Salah, daily Duas (morning, evening, eating, sleeping), and basic Islamic manners (Adab). These give your child practical knowledge they use every day.

A Typical Week for a Rahman School Student
Here is what a typical week looks like for 7-year-old Amina in London:
Monday, 5:00 PM (UK): 30-minute Quran reading class with Ustadha Maryam. They are working through Surah Al-Baqarah.
Wednesday, 5:00 PM: 30-minute class. Amina revises what she memorised last week and learns 3 new Ayat.
Saturday, 10:00 AM: 30-minute class. Tajweed focus — this week they are practising Ikhfaa rules.
Amina started 8 months ago. She could not read Arabic at all. Today she reads from the Mushaf and has memorised 12 Surahs. Her mum says Quran class is the one thing Amina never wants to miss.
Every child’s schedule and pace is different. This is just one example.

My son cannot wait for his Quran class every evening! He has connected so well with his teacher Ustadh Mohamed Ahmed. JazakAllah Khair for such a caring environment.

My daughter has improved so much in her Quran recitation, Alhamdulillah. Her teacher is patient and kind, and she truly looks forward to every class.
— Fatima Khan, United Kingdom
We tried three other online Quran schools before Rahman School. The difference is the teacher. Our teacher actually cares about our son and knows exactly how to keep him focused.

Frequently Asked Questions About Online Quran Classes for Kids
What age can my child start Quran classes?
Children can start from age 4. At this age, classes are short (20-30 minutes), fun, and focused on Arabic letter recognition and short Surahs. We adjust the teaching style to match your child’s attention span and energy level.
Is online learning effective for young children?
Yes — when it is one-to-one. Group online classes can be difficult for young children because they get distracted or lost. In a one-to-one class, the teacher’s entire focus is on your child. They can adapt the lesson in real time, use games and activities, and keep your child engaged the whole time.
Can I sit in on my child’s class?
Absolutely. Parents are welcome to join, observe, or listen to any class at any time. For children under 8, we actually encourage a parent to be nearby. You do not need to ask permission — just be there.
Is my child safe in online classes?
Your child’s safety is our highest priority. Classes happen on Zoom with waiting rooms. Only the teacher and your child are in the session. Teachers cannot contact students through personal channels. You can join any class unannounced. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any inappropriate behaviour.
What if my child is shy or nervous?
That is completely normal. Our teachers are experienced with shy children. They go slowly, use gentle encouragement, and focus on building trust in the first few classes. Most parents tell us their child opens up within 2-3 sessions.
My child has tried Quran classes before and did not enjoy them. Will this be different?
Often the problem is not the child — it is the teaching method. Group classes, impatient teachers, or a pace that does not match the child can all make Quran learning feel like a chore. Our one-to-one approach with trained, patient teachers changes this. Book a free trial and let your child experience the difference.
How many classes per week should my child take?
We recommend 2-3 classes per week for steady progress. Some families start with 2 and add a third once the child is comfortable. For Hifz students, 4-5 classes per week is common. Your teacher will advise based on your child’s goals.
