Imagine standing in Salah and actually understanding what you are reciting. Imagine reading the Quran and feeling the meaning wash over you — not because someone translated it, but because you understand the Arabic yourself.

That is what learning Arabic gives you. And it is more achievable than you think.

At Rahman School, our Arabic classes are taught by native Arabic speakers from Egypt who make the language simple, practical, and connected to the Quran from day one. Whether you have never seen an Arabic letter or you can read but do not understand, we have a course for you.

  • Complete beginner to advanced levels
  • Native Egyptian teachers (Arabic is their mother tongue)
  • Reading, writing, grammar, and conversation
  • Quranic Arabic focus available
  • Kids, teens, and adults

Why Learn Arabic with Rahman School?

Native Arabic-Speaking Teachers

Our teachers are not just Arabic speakers — they are native Egyptians educated at Al-Azhar University, where Arabic language and grammar are studied at the highest academic level. They understand the nuances, the grammar rules, and the Quranic vocabulary in a way that non-native teachers simply cannot match.

Arabic for the Quran — Not Just Conversation

Many Arabic courses focus on Modern Standard Arabic or conversational dialect. Those are useful for travel or business, but they do not help you understand the Quran. Our “Quranic Arabic” track is specifically designed to help you understand the vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structures used in the Quran and Hadith.

Start from Absolute Zero

Never seen an Arabic letter? That is perfectly fine. We teach the alphabet from scratch — how to read it, write it, and pronounce it correctly. Many of our students are converts to Islam or Muslims who grew up in English-speaking countries and never had the chance to learn Arabic formally.

One-to-One — Learn at Your Own Speed

In group Arabic classes, fast learners get bored and slow learners get left behind. In our one-to-one classes, the pace is yours. If you need to spend three classes on a difficult grammar concept, your teacher will do that. If you are flying through the basics, they will move you forward.

Our Arabic Course Tracks

We offer three tracks so you can choose the path that matches your goals:

Track 1: Quranic Arabic

Goal: Understand what you read in the Quran and in Salah

This is our most popular Arabic track. You will learn:

  • The 300 most common Quran vocabulary words (which cover approximately 70% of the Quran’s text)
  • Basic Arabic grammar (Nahw) as it applies to Quran verses
  • How to read Tafsir and understand the context of verses
  • Common Duas and their meanings

Who is this for? Muslims who can read Arabic letters but do not understand the meaning, and those who want a deeper connection with the Quran.

Typical duration: 6-12 months (2-3 classes per week)

Track 2: Arabic Reading and Writing

Goal: Read and write Arabic from scratch

  • All 28 Arabic letters — recognition, pronunciation, and writing
  • Connecting letters to form words
  • Short vowels (Harakat) and long vowels
  • Reading simple sentences and paragraphs
  • Basic handwriting skills

Who is this for? Complete beginners, converts, children starting Arabic, or anyone who cannot read Arabic script.

Typical duration: 2-4 months (2-3 classes per week)

Track 3: Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)

Goal: Speak, read, and write Arabic for everyday communication

  • Grammar (Nahw and Sarf) from beginner to advanced
  • Vocabulary for daily life, travel, and professional contexts
  • Reading comprehension with graded texts
  • Listening and conversation practice
  • Writing essays, emails, and formal texts

Who is this for? Students who want to communicate in Arabic beyond Quran study — for travel, heritage connection, academic purposes, or professional needs.

Typical duration: 12-24 months for conversational fluency (2-3 classes per week)

What a Beginner Arabic Class Looks Like

Here is what you can expect in a typical 30-minute beginner class:

Minutes 1-5: Review. Your teacher checks what you learned last time. You practise writing or reading the letters from your homework.

Minutes 5-15: New content. Your teacher introduces 2-3 new letters or a new grammar concept. They explain clearly, give examples, and make sure you understand before moving on.

Minutes 15-25: Practice. You read, write, or speak using what you just learned. The teacher corrects you in real time. This is where the real learning happens.

Minutes 25-30: Wrap-up. Your teacher summarises what you covered, assigns simple homework, and tells you what to expect in the next class.

It is structured, focused, and tailored to your pace. No wasted time.

Arabic for Kids

Children absorb languages naturally. The earlier they start, the easier it becomes. Our Arabic classes for kids include:

  • Ages 4-6: Letter recognition through games, songs, and colouring. Building a vocabulary of everyday Arabic words.
  • Ages 7-10: Reading and writing Arabic, short sentences, basic grammar, and Quran vocabulary.
  • Ages 11-15: Grammar, composition, reading comprehension, and Quranic Arabic.

We make Arabic fun for children. No boring drills. Just engaging, age-appropriate lessons that build real skills.

What Students Say

I am a convert and I could not read a single Arabic letter when I started. After 4 months with my teacher at Rahman School, I can read the Quran slowly but correctly. It feels like a miracle, Alhamdulillah.

Adult Student, United States

My children now understand the meaning of what they recite in Salah. That alone was worth every penny.

Frequently Asked Questions About Arabic Classes for Beginners

Do I need any prior knowledge to start?

None at all. Our beginner track starts from the Arabic alphabet — the very first letter (Alif). Many of our students have never studied Arabic before. Your teacher will meet you exactly where you are.

Is Quranic Arabic different from modern Arabic?

Yes and no. The grammar is the same, but Quranic Arabic uses classical vocabulary and sentence structures that are different from everyday spoken Arabic. Our Quranic Arabic track focuses specifically on the vocabulary and patterns found in the Quran, which is the most relevant for most Muslim students.

How long does it take to understand the Quran in Arabic?

With our Quranic Arabic track (2-3 classes per week), most students can understand simple verses within 3-4 months. After 6-12 months, you will understand a significant portion of what you read and hear in the Quran and Salah. Full comprehension of complex verses takes longer and is a lifelong journey.

Can my child learn Arabic and Quran at the same time?

Yes. Many families combine Arabic reading classes with Quran reading classes. Your child learns Arabic letters and reading skills, then applies them directly to the Quran. Your teacher can integrate both into a single learning plan.

What materials do I need?

We provide all learning materials digitally. Your teacher will share worksheets, vocabulary lists, and reading exercises through the student portal. You just need a device with Zoom and something to write with if you want to practise handwriting.

I can read Arabic but I do not understand it. Which track should I choose?

Choose Track 1 (Quranic Arabic). This track is designed exactly for people in your situation — you can sound out the words but the meaning is not there yet. Your teacher will build your vocabulary and grammar so the Quran starts making sense.

Understand the Quran. Change Your Salah Forever.

When you understand Arabic, everything changes. Salah becomes a conversation, not a routine. The Quran becomes a guide, not just a text. And your connection to Allah deepens in a way no translation can match.
