Surah taha (Arabic:سورة طه) is one of the surahs where it is named after the first word in it. It’s also called the Converser, the main idiom which was to emphasize the mercy and justice of God to his messengers, by showing the moral of hard plights the prophets go through and saved by the grace of God, as in the story of Moses had been simplified to set an example of God’s wisdom in testing hardship,

  •  The story of Moses, from his birth to his exodus as an emigrant to Madyan, fleeing from Pharaoh’s tyranny and his tyranny.
  • Then his return to Pharaoh and the confrontation between him and the magicians, his victory over them, his exodus with the children of Israel, and the destruction of Pharaoh and his army.
  • taha surah mentioned in detail the story of Moses and Aaron with the great tyrant Pharaoh, and almost most of the surat toha is talking about it, especially the attitude of Moses’s silent supplication to Allah.
  • The attitude of Moses on his mission, the argument between Moses and Pharaoh, and the dueling contest between Moses and the witches are reflected in the corners of that story by God’s patronage of his prophet and his Word, and by God’s destruction of his enemies.
  • It presented Adam’s story quickly, in which God’s mercy on Adam emerged after his sin, the god’s gift to his descendants by sending missionaries and foreshadows, and then leaving them the choice between the path of good or evil.
  • surah al taha was also on display for the day of Great Doomsday, where fair retribution is done, obedient servants go to paradise, and disobedient go to Jahannam, to ensure God’s promise – which is not left behind – to prove to believers and punish sinners.

Surah taha meaning

It was called (surah ta ha) because of the meaning of these two letters of the call to the Prophet. In Tafsir al-Tabari, it came the Tafsir of al-Tabari that (Ta-Ha) in Nabataean means the man, and this is a kind of honoring and tribute to the prophet.

  • The scholars and the interpreter argued about the interpretation of his saying (surah e taha)
  • so some of them said Ta-Ha might mean the Nobleman or a name of God’s names
  •  Imam Ibn Baz said: Yasin is not of the prophet’s name, and (sura ta ha ) is not his name either.
  • Some people think it, and it is not, neither Taha, nor Yasin, nor other Surahs openers, but they are letters cut like: (L M) and like (H AM) and like (A L M S) and their likes, all letters cut at the beginning of Surahs, God has great wisdom – swim it up – and not the names of the Prophet but said: Surah Taha, Surah Yasin, Surah (A l M S), surah (H A M) Like It’s Okay.
  • The prophet had several names, but the most famous of them is Mohammed, Ahmad – and Al-Mahi, Al-Haqqi, and Al-Meqqvi, as stated in the Hadith, Prophet of Repentance, Prophet of the Mercy, and the Prophet of the Saga.

Narrated `Abdullah bin Mas`ud:

Surah Bani-Israel, Al-Kahf (The Cave), Maryam, Taha, and Al-Anbiya’ (The Prophets) are among my first earnings and my old property, and (in fact) they are my old property.

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، يَقُولُ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَالْكَهْفِ وَمَرْيَمَ وَطَهَ وَالأَنْبِيَاءِ إِنَّهُنَّ مِنَ الْعِتَاقِ الأُوَلِ وَهُنَّ مِنْ تِلاَدِي‏.‏

When was Surah Taha revealed?

 Surah Taha was revealed to the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – at the end of the fourth year of the Prophet’s mission, and the beginning of the fifth year of the mission.

  • This taha surah was revealed after the revelation of Surah Maryam, and its main purpose is to establish the principles of religion, monotheism, prophethood, and resurrection.

How was Surah Taha revealed?

  • The main reason for the revelation of Surah Taha is that the infidels were mocking the Prophet because the Prophet prayed and prayed to perform the Optional Night Prayer until dawn, and it was hard and exhausting on him but continued to pray until his heels and feet swelled. “You are miserable to leave the religion of your forefathers.” Al-Nadr bin Al-Harith and the infields said that to the prophet
  • So the prophet said to them, “I am only a mercy to the world.” 
  • So God Almighty revealed this phrase to amuse and to steadfastness the Noble Prophet.
  • It is said that it was revealed after Muqatil said, Abu Jahl and Al-Nadr bin Al-Harith said to the prophet ( you are miserable to leave our religion) after they saw his diligence and his devotion to the worship, 
  • So this verse was revealed to console the Messenger and that God did not send the Quran down to make him miserable.
  • (Ta-Ha, We have not sent down to you the Qur’an that you are distressed about)

( طه. مَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لِتَشْقَى)

Where was Surah Taha revealed?

Surah Taha is one of the oft-repeated Surahs, and it is one of the Meccan Surahs that was revealed to the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – in holy Mecca, with the exception of verses (131-132), which were revealed in Medina.

and its arrangement of Surah in the Holy Quran is the twentieth, it is also located in the sixteenth part, and the thirty-second party, and the number of verses is one hundred and thirty-five.

Why was the surah named Taha?

  • As we mentioned above, surat toha was named after the beginning of it. There are interpreters who say that Taha is one of God’s names. 
  • Other scholars say it’s one of the sporadic names where it came before in some Surahs, and Ta-Ha in Syriac means the man.
  • Some pointed out that Taha is an oath of God to assure the prophet’s faith that Allah did not reveal the Quran to wretch him, as the infidels said, because of the tirelessness and diligence of the messenger in worship.
  • It also named Surah, the epithet of Moses, as it mentioned the prophet Moses’ story with Pharaoh.

What is the main theme of surah taha?

About the main themes of sura ta ha, it is one of the Surahs that focused on the pillars of the Islamic faith, defined God – the Almighty – and also supported the sincerity of the Prophet, and affirmed that the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s message are from God and that the Resurrection is true.

God’s tribute to the prophet

  •  from the verse: (We did not send down the Qur’an to you so that you might be wretched), and even the verse: (Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong to the best names). 
  •  Allah wants to remind people that the Quran sending wasn’t for their misery or fatigue. 
  • Rather, God Almighty sent it down for people’s happiness and salvation, for it is revealed by a merciful Lord who is characterized by all the attributes of perfection and greatness. 

Moses story

  • The next theme of Surah Taha in the verses of  Moses’ story:  (And has the story of Moses reached you?)
  • Till the verse says: (Indeed, we have believed in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you compelled us [to do] of magic. And Allah is better and more enduring). 
  • The story in detail, its beginning was with God’s words to Moses on Mount Sinai and his duty to go to Pharaoh and invite him to believe in God, and lift the oppression from the Tribe of Israel.
  • and God’s support with miracles indicating the truthfulness of his prophecy. 
  • Moses went with his brother to counsel Pharaoh.
  •  Surah Taha also spoke of the childhood of the Prophet Moses, where God saved him from the oppression of Pharaoh. 
  • and made him live and grow in the palace of his enemy.
  • All of that is evidence of the weakness of Pharaoh who sees in himself God and the strong. 
  •  verses are transmitted to talk about the meeting of Pharaoh and Moses and the steadfastness of the Prophet Moses to the truth.
  • the bringing of Pharaoh to his sorcerers and the miracle is done by turning his stick Moses into a big snake that grabs the magicians’ sticks and their ropes. 
  • So the magicians fell down in prostration to God.
  • believing in the god of Moses, and Pharaoh tortures them with the most severe torment for what they did 
  • But that does not deviate them from their belief in the One God, and sorcerers die on faith

The reward for the believers in the life hereafter

  • The verses start from (Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal – indeed, for him it is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live)
  • The verse says (Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies himself)
  • Describe the gardens of bliss, which will be the penalty for magicians, the believers on the Day of Resurrection, and the reward for every believer in God Almighty in every time and place.

Moses’ battle against Pharaoh and the manipulation of Saimiri

  • Verses from (And we had inspired Moses, travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken by Pharaoh nor be afraid of drowning), till (Thus,  we relate to you from the news of what has preceded. We have certainly sent you a message)
  •  Refer to the story of the Prophet of God Moses against the tyrant Pharaoh and his army
  •  Describe how God saved him and the tribe of Israel from the oppression of Pharaoh
  •  by splitting the sea for them and providing them with graces to live a decent life.
  •  When Moses went to meet his Lord, they forgot the  monotheist of God and followed a man named Saimiri
  •   He made a calf of gold for them and commanded them to worship it.
  •  So Moses returned from meeting his Lord to find this disaster, and he became very angry with the tribe of Israel.
  • He blamed his brother Aaron for not forbidding them to do this evil 
  • He ordered the calf to be burned and ordered people to retire from the Samaritan
  • Then the verses became clear to the Prophet Muhammad that the Quran told the story of Moses in order to take morals from it for the Muslim

The horror of the Day of Resurrection

  •  In the verses: ( Whoever turns away from it – then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden) till (But he who does of righteous deeds while he is a believer – he will neither fear injustice nor deprivation)
  • verses describe the Day of Resurrection and describe the events and horrors of the doom’s day
  • A day when the wicked will be certain and the liar will believe that there is no power except for the one who is all-powerful, and there is no word except for Allah. 
  • And in the verses in the Almighty says: (So high above all is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, Muḥammad, do not hasten with the recitation of the Quran before its revelation is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge to support and relieve Prophet Mohamed.” 
  • Before that, he repeats the verses behind Gabriel – peace be upon him when they are revealed for fear of forgetting them

Adams story

Then God Almighty presents the story of Adam to remind the Islamic nation of the first lesson for humanity in this world.

  • In the verses from (And we had already taken a promise from Adam before, but he forgot, and we found not in his determination) till the verse (descend from it (Paradise), all (your descendants) being enemies to one another). If there should come to you guidance from me – then whoever follows my guidance will neither go astray (in the world) nor suffer  the Hereafter)
  •  The reason for Adam’s descent from Paradise was doing something that God forbade him to do, which is eating from a tree in Paradise.
  • And this is how humans in this world have a choice between what is permissible and what is forbidden.
  •  So whoever goes to the permissible deeds will be saved and go to heaven, and whoever chooses the forbidden has deprived himself of much good in the hereafter 
  • and disturbed the peace of his life in this world before the hereafter, 
  • This is the purpose of Satan from him to seduce him as he tempted his father Adam before that.
  • And in the verse: (And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed life, and we will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind)
  • The most dangerous and important divine lesson is that a happy and calm life is completely linked to obedience to God.
  • to follow His commands and to be saved from your hardship and suffering. 
  •  (And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. The punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring)
  •  until the last verse in Surah Taha, (Say, Each[of us is waiting;  so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided)
  • The beginning of Surah Taha is related to its end to show its main purpose of it.
  •   The main purpose of Surah Taha is that the Quran is the method of happiness for man in this world
  •  The Quran is the word of God and what he interpreted from the words of the Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. this world and will perish in the hereafter.

surah taha makki or madani?

Surah taha is one of the Meccan surahs that were revealed to the Prophet –  in Mecca, with the exception of verses “131-132”, which were revealed in Medina, and the arrangement of this surah is the twenty in the Noble Quran.

How to memorise surah taha?

The most recommended method to easily memorize the Quran is continuous repetition.

  • This is done by repeating the first verse from Surah Taha to be memorized twenty times
  •  then repeat the following verses; each verse separately
  • Twenty times for each verse, and so on
  • until the verses reach four verses from taha surah
  • Then your memory connection between the four verses is completed.
  • Then repeat  them more than twenty times
  • Then start with four other verses to memorize
  • and each verse is repeated twenty times in the same way as before. 
  • Then the four new verses are linked to the previous by repeating all more twenty times
  •  Once, and then what was linked in the two memorizations is repeated twenty times 
  • And upon completion of memorizing one section of taha surah
  •  And before beginning the new memorization, revise it again.
  •  This memorization is repeated twenty times
  • until it is firmly established
  • and then begin with the new memorization section.

Hadith on surah taha

It was narrated that Al-Qasim said:

The Greatest Name of Allah, if He is called by which He will respond, is in three Surah: Al-Baqarah, Al ‘Imran, and Ta-Ha. (Hasan)Another chain for something similar from Al-Qasim, from Abu Umamah, from the Prophet.

Suna Ibn Majah 

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْعَلاَءِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ الأَعْظَمُ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ فِي سُوَرٍ ثَلاَثٍ الْبَقَرَةِ وَآلِ عِمْرَانَ وَطَهَ ‏.‏

Abū Huraira (RA) reported Allah’s Messenger (SAW) as saying, “A thousand years before creating the heavens and the earth Allah recited Tā’ Hā’ (Qur’ān, 20) and Yā’ Sīn, and when the angels heard the recitation they said, ‘Happy are a people to whom this comes down, happy are the minds which carry this, and happy are the tongues which utter this’.” Dārimī transmitted it.

Mishkat al-Masabih 2148, Book 8, Hadith 39

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَرَأَ (طه) و (يس) قبل أَن يخلق السَّمَوَات وَالْأَرْضَ بِأَلْفِ عَامٍ فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ الْقُرْآنَ قَالَتْ طُوبَى لِأُمَّةٍ يَنْزِلُ هَذَا عَلَيْهَا وَطُوبَى لِأَجْوَافٍ تَحْمِلُ هَذَا وَطُوبَى لِأَلْسِنَةٍ تَتَكَلَّمُ بِهَذَا» . رَوَاهُ الدَّارمِيّ

surah taha benefits

There were many narrations about the Islam of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab  and Surah Taha

  • One of them was that one day he was out of patience with the Prophet, and the Muslims 
  • He decided to kill the Prophet and eliminate the daawah 
  • to preserve the unity of Quraysh from the division that occurred after the Prophet’s mission 
  • as it was He thought, and he went out with his sword on, heading to the house of al-Arqam ibn Abi al-Arqam, where Muslims gather with the Prophet. 
  • A man met him on the road who had hidden his Islam. 
  • He asked Omar about his destination while he was in such anger. 
  • Omar replied that he was out to kill Muhammad. 
  • The man told him about the Islam of his sister Fatima bint al-Khattab and her husband changed. his way 
  • Omar became very angry and went to his sister’s house, and when he arrived and learned of her conversion to Islam, 
  • He saw in her hand a leaf in which she was reading. And the verses of God touched his heart, 
  • and he decided to embrace Islam
  • So he went to the Messenger of God 
  • And the Messenger of God said to him: “You are not finished, Omar, until God brings you disgrace and punishment like Al-Waleed bin Al-Mughirah!
  •  The messenger then said, God, this is Omar bin Al-Khattab, may  Allah honour the religion with Omar. 
  • Omar said: I bear witness you are the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon you, and he embraced IslaIslam.” this was the story of Omar – may God be pleased with him – with Surah Taha.

It’s also believed that Taha Surah has a blessing when you recite it and think about the morals in it, as it contains the greatest name of Allah on it. When reciting it and making dua, all will respond to you, if you devote your good intentions.

Surah taha Tafseer 

Verses 1 to 4

Ṭa, Ha


 We have not sent down to you the Quran that you be distressed

مَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِتَشۡقَىٰٓ

 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah]

إِلَّا تَذۡكِرَةٗ لِّمَن يَخۡشَىٰ

A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens

تَنزِيلٗا مِّمَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلۡعُلَى

Verses 5 to 8

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ

(5) The Most Merciful [who is] above the ThroThrone?مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحۡتَ ٱلثَّرَىٰ

(6) To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil

وَإِن تَجۡهَرۡ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلسِّرَّ وَأَخۡفَى

(7) And if you speak aloud,n indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ لَهُ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ

(8) Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the to the names.

Verses 9 to 12

وَهَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ

(9) And has the story of Moses reached you?

إِذۡ رَءَا نَارٗا فَقَالَ لِأَهۡلِهِ ٱمۡكُثُوٓاْ إِنِّيٓ ءَانَسۡتُ نَارٗا لَّعَلِّيٓ ءَاتِيكُم مِّنۡهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوۡ أَجِدُ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ هُدٗى

(10) When he saw a fire and said to his family, “Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire someَآ أَتَىٰهَا نُودِيَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ

(11) And when he came to it, he was called, “O Moses

إِنِّيٓ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكَ فَٱخۡلَعۡ نَعۡلَيۡكَ إِنَّكَ بِٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوٗى

(12) Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the blessed valley of Ṭuwa

Verses 13 to 17

وَأَنَا ٱخۡتَرۡتُكَ فَٱسۡتَمِعۡ لِمَا يُوحَىٰٓ

(13) And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you].

إِنَّنِيٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدۡنِي وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِذِكۡرِيٓ

(14) Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance

إِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ ءَاتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخۡفِيهَا لِتُجۡزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا تَسۡعَىٰ

(15) Indeed, the Hour is coming – I almost conceal it[833] – so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it

فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنۡهَا مَن لَّا يُؤۡمِنُ بِهَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَتَرۡدَىٰ

(16) So do not let one avert you from it[834] who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish

وَمَا تِلۡكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

(17) And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?

Verses 18 to 21

قَالَ هِيَ عَصَايَ أَتَوَكَّؤُاْ عَلَيۡهَا وَأَهُشُّ بِهَا عَلَىٰ غَنَمِي وَلِيَ فِيهَا مَـَٔارِبُ أُخۡرَىٰ

(18) He said, “It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have them for their own uses.”

قَالَ أَلۡقِهَا يَٰمُوسَىٰ

(19) [Allah] said, “Throw it down, Moses.

فَأَلۡقَىٰهَا فَإِذَا هِيَ حَيَّةٞ تَسۡعَىٰ

(20) So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly.

قَالَ خُذۡهَا وَلَا تَخَفۡۖ سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

(21) [Allah] said, “Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition

 Verses 22 to 25

وَٱضۡمُمۡ يَدَكَ إِلَىٰ جَنَاحِكَ تَخۡرُجۡ بَيۡضَآءَ مِنۡ غَيۡرِ سُوٓءٍ ءَايَةً أُخۡرَىٰ

(22) And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease – another sign,

لِنُرِيَكَ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا ٱلۡكُبۡرَى

(23) That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs

ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

(24) Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed [i.e., tyrannized].

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشۡرَحۡ لِي صَدۡرِي

(25) [Moses] said, “My Lord, expand [i.e., relax] for me my breast [with assurance]

Verses 26 to 31

وَيَسِّرۡ لِيٓ أَمۡرِي

(26) And ease for me my tۡلُلۡ عُقۡدَةٗ مِّن لِّسَانِي

(27) And untie the knot from my tongue

يَفۡقَهُواْ قَوۡلِي

(28) That they may understand my speech

وَٱجۡعَل لِّي وَزِيرٗا مِّنۡ أَهۡلِي

(29) And appoint for me a minister from my family

هَٰرُونَ أَخِي

(30) Aaron, my brother.

ٱشۡدُدۡ بِهِۦٓ أَزۡرِي

(31) Increase through him my se 32  to 37

وَأَشۡرِكۡهُ فِيٓ أَمۡرِي

(32) And let him share my task

كَيۡ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرٗا

(33) That we may exalt You.

وَنَذۡكُرَكَ كَثِيرًا

(34) And remember You much

إِنَّكَ كُنتَ بِنَا بَصِيرٗا

(35) Indeed, do any of you ever see

قَالَ قَدۡ أُوتِيتَ سُؤۡلَكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

(36) [Allah] said, “You have been granted your request, Moses.”

وَلَقَدۡ مَنَنَّا عَلَيۡكَ مَرَّةً أُخۡرَىٰٓ

(37) And we had already conferred favor upon you another time,

Verse 32 to 43

إِذۡ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ

(38) When you inspired your mother, what inspired

أَنِ ٱقۡذِفِيهِ فِي ٱلتَّابُوتِ فَٱقۡذِفِيهِ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ فَلۡيُلۡقِهِ ٱلۡيَمُّ بِٱلسَّاحِلِ يَأۡخُذۡهُ عَدُوّٞ لِّي وَعَدُوّٞ لَّهُۥۚ وَأَلۡقَيۡتُ عَلَيۡكَ مَحَبَّةٗ مِّنِّي وَلِتُصۡنَعَ عَلَىٰ عَيۡنِيٓ

(39) [Saying], Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him as an easy any to me and an enemy to him.him.” I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye [observation and care].

إِذۡ تَمۡشِيٓ أُخۡتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكۡفُلُهُۥۖ فَرَجَعۡنَٰكَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ كَيۡ تَقَرَّ عَيۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَۚ وَقَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسٗا فَنَجَّيۡنَٰكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّٰكَ فُتُونٗاۚ فَلَبِثۡتَ سِنِينَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِ مَدۡيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئۡتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٖ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

(40) [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, ‘Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?’ So stored you to your mother so that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone,[836] but we saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses

وَٱصۡطَنَعۡتُكَ لِنَفۡسِي

(41) And reduced you to me.

ٱذۡهَبۡ أَنتَ وَأَخُوكَ بِـَٔايَٰتِي وَلَا تَنِيَا فِي ذِكۡرِي

(42) Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance

ٱذۡهَبَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

(43) Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed

Verses 44 to 49

فَقُولَا لَهُۥ قَوۡلٗا لَّيِّنٗا لَّعَلَّهُۥ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوۡ يَخۡشَىٰ

(44) And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allāh].

قَالَا رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن يَفۡرُطَ عَلَيۡنَآ أَوۡ أَن يَطۡغَىٰ

(45) They said, “Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress

قَالَ لَا تَخَافَآۖ إِنَّنِي مَعَكُمَآ أَسۡمَعُ وَأَرَىٰ

(46) [Allāh] said, “Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see

فَأۡتِيَاهُ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرۡسِلۡ مَعَنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبۡهُمۡۖ قَدۡ جِئۡنَٰكَ بِـَٔايَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّكَۖ وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ

(47) So go to him and say, ‘Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace[838] will be upon he who follows the guidance. 

إِنَّا قَدۡ أُوحِيَ إِلَيۡنَآ أَنَّ ٱلۡعَذَابَ عَلَىٰ مَن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

(48) Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.’

قَالَ فَمَن رَّبُّكُمَا يَٰمُوسَىٰ

(49) [Pharaoh] said, “So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?

Verses 50 to 60

قَالَ رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِيٓ أَعۡطَىٰ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلۡقَهُۥ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ

(50) He said, “Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it

قَالَ فَمَا بَالُ ٱلۡقُرُونِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

(51) [Pharaoh] said, “Then what is the case of the former generations?

قَالَ عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّي فِي كِتَٰبٖۖ لَّا يَضِلُّ رَبِّي وَلَا يَنسَى

(52) [Moses] said, “The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets.”

ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَهۡدٗا وَسَلَكَ لَكُمۡ فِيهَا سُبُلٗا وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٗا مِّن نَّبَاتٖ شَتَّىٰ

(53) [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants.

كُلُواْ وَٱرۡعَوۡاْ أَنۡعَٰمَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّأُوْلِي ٱلنُّهَىٰ

(54) Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed in that are their areas for those of intelligence

مِنۡهَا خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمۡ وَمِنۡهَا نُخۡرِجُكُمۡ تَارَةً أُخۡرَىٰ

(55) From it [i.e., the earth] We created you, and into it, We will return you, and from it, We will extract you another time

.قَدۡ أَرَيۡنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا كُلَّهَا فَكَذَّبَ وَأَبَىٰ

(56) And We certainly showed him [i.e., Pharaoh] Our signs – all of them – but he denied and refused

قَالَ أَجِئۡتَنَا لِتُخۡرِجَنَا مِنۡ أَرۡضِنَا بِسِحۡرِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

(57) He said, “Have you come to us to drive us out of our land with your magic, O Moses?

فَلَنَأۡتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحۡرٖ مِّثۡلِهِۦ فَٱجۡعَلۡ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكَ مَوۡعِدٗا لَّا نُخۡلِفُهُۥ نَحۡنُ وَلَآ أَنتَ مَكَانٗا سُوٗى

(58) Then we will surely bring you magic like it, so make between us and you an appointment, which we will not fail to keep and neither will you, in a place assigned.

قَالَ مَوۡعِدُكُمۡ يَوۡمُ ٱلزِّينَةِ وَأَن يُحۡشَرَ ٱلنَّاسُ ضُحٗى

(59) [Moses] said, “Your appointment is on the day of the festival when the people assemble at mid-morning.

فَتَوَلَّىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنُ فَجَمَعَ كَيۡدَهُۥ ثُمَّ أَتَىٰ

(60) So Pharaoh went away, put together his plan, and then came [to Moses]

VersVerse:to 71

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ وَيۡلَكُمۡ لَا تَفۡتَرُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبٗا فَيُسۡحِتَكُم بِعَذَابٖۖ وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ

(61) Moses said to them [i.e., the magicians summoned by Pharaoh], “Woe to you! Do not invent a lie against Allāh or He will exterminate you with a punishment; and he has failed who invents [such falsehood

فَتَنَٰزَعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡ وَأَسَرُّواْ ٱلنَّجۡوَىٰ

(62) So they disputed over their affair among themselves and concealed their private conversation

قَالُوٓاْ إِنۡ هَٰذَٰنِ لَسَٰحِرَٰنِ يُرِيدَانِ أَن يُخۡرِجَاكُم مِّنۡ أَرۡضِكُم بِسِحۡرِهِمَا وَيَذۡهَبَا بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ ٱلۡمُثۡلَىٰ

(63) They said, “Indeed, these are two magicians who want to drive you out of your land with their magic and do away with your most exemplary way (religion or tradition)

فَأَجۡمِعُواْ كَيۡدَكُمۡ ثُمَّ ٱئۡتُواْ صَفّٗاۚ وَقَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ مَنِ ٱسۡتَعۡلَىٰ

(64) So resolve upon your plan and then come [forward] in line. And he needed it today.

قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلۡقِيَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنۡ أَلۡقَىٰ

(65) They said,  Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw.

قَالَ بَلۡ أَلۡقُواْۖ فَإِذَا حِبَالُهُمۡ وَعِصِيُّهُمۡ يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيۡهِ مِن سِحۡرِهِمۡ أَنَّهَا تَسۡعَىٰ

(66) He said, “Rather, you throw.” And suddenly their ropes and staff staffed to him from their magic that they were moving like snakes

فَأَوۡجَسَ فِي نَفۡسِهِۦ خِيفَةٗ مُّوسَىٰ

(67) And he sensed within himself apprehension, did Moses

قُلۡنَا لَا تَخَفۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ

(68) We said, “Fear not. Indeed, it is you who are superior

وَأَلۡقِ مَا فِي يَمِينِكَ تَلۡقَفۡ مَا صَنَعُوٓاْۖ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُواْ كَيۡدُ سَٰحِرٖۖ وَلَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلسَّاحِرُ حَيۡثُ أَتَىٰ

(69) And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is.

فَأُلۡقِيَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدٗا قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ هَٰرُونَ وَمُوسَىٰ

(70) So the magicians fell down in prostration.[841] They said, “We have believed in the Lord of Aaron and Moses

قَالَ ءَامَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ قَبۡلَ أَنۡ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمۡۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحۡرَۖ فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ وَأَرۡجُلَكُم مِّنۡ خِلَٰفٖ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡ فِي جُذُوعِ ٱلنَّخۡلِ وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ أَيُّنَآ أَشَدُّ عَذَابٗا وَأَبۡقَىٰ

(71) [Pharaoh] said, “You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic. So I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in [giving] punishment and more enduring

 قَالُواْ لَن نُّؤۡثِرَكَ عَلَىٰ مَا جَآءَنَا مِنَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلَّذِي فَطَرَنَاۖ فَٱقۡضِ مَآ أَنتَ قَاضٍۖ إِنَّمَا تَقۡضِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَآ

(72) They said, “Never will we prefer you over what has come to us of clear proof and [over] He who created us.[842] So decree whatever you are to decree. You can only decree for this worldly life

Verse 73 to 90

إِنَّآ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّنَا لِيَغۡفِرَ لَنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَا وَمَآ أَكۡرَهۡتَنَا عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلسِّحۡرِۗ وَٱللَّهُ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ

(73) Indeed, we have believed in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you compelled us [to do] of magic. And Allāh is better and more enduring.

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

(74) Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal – indeed, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live

وَمَن يَأۡتِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنٗا قَدۡ عَمِلَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱلدَّرَجَٰتُ ٱلۡعُلَىٰ

(75) But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds – for those will be the highest degrees

جَنَّٰتُ عَدۡنٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ

(76) Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies himself

وَلَقَدۡ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِي فَٱضۡرِبۡ لَهُمۡ طَرِيقٗا فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ يَبَسٗا لَّا تَخَٰفُ دَرَكٗا وَلَا تَخۡشَىٰ

(77) And We had inspired Moses, “Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken [by Pharaoh] nor be afraid [of drowning

فَأَتۡبَعَهُمۡ فِرۡعَوۡنُ بِجُنُودِهِۦ فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمۡ

(78) So Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and there covered them from the sea that whicred them,

وَأَضَلَّ فِرۡعَوۡنُ قَوۡمَهُۥ وَمَا هَدَىٰ

(79) And Pharaoh led his people astray and did not guide [them]

يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ قَدۡ أَنجَيۡنَٰكُم مِّنۡ عَدُوِّكُمۡ وَوَٰعَدۡنَٰكُمۡ جَانِبَ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلۡأَيۡمَنَ وَنَزَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلۡوَىٰ

(80) Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you[846] at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quails,

كُلُواْ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡ وَلَا تَطۡغَوۡاْ فِيهِ فَيَحِلَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ غَضَبِيۖ وَمَن يَحۡلِلۡ عَلَيۡهِ غَضَبِي فَقَدۡ هَوَىٰ

(81) [Saying], “Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen

وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٞ لِّمَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا ثُمَّ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ

(82) But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of grieving pants and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance

 وَمَآ أَعۡجَلَكَ عَن قَوۡمِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

(83) [Allah said], “And what made you hasten from your people, Moses?

قَالَ هُمۡ أُوْلَآءِ عَلَىٰٓ أَثَرِي وَعَجِلۡتُ إِلَيۡكَ رَبِّ لِتَرۡضَىٰ

(84) He said, “They are close upon my tracks, and I hastened to You, my Lord, that You be pleased

قَالَ فَإِنَّا قَدۡ فَتَنَّا قَوۡمَكَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِكَ وَأَضَلَّهُمُ ٱلسَّامِرِيُّ

(85) [Allah] said, “But indeed, We have tried your people after you [departed], and the Samurai has led them astray

فَرَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ غَضۡبَٰنَ أَسِفٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ أَلَمۡ يَعِدۡكُمۡ رَبُّكُمۡ وَعۡدًا حَسَنًاۚ أَفَطَالَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡعَهۡدُ أَمۡ أَرَدتُّمۡ أَن يَحِلَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ غَضَبٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ فَأَخۡلَفۡتُم مَّوۡعِدِي

(86) So Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved.[848] He said,  my people, did your Lord not make you a good promise?[849] Then, was the time [of its fulfillment] too long for you, or did you wish that wrath from your Lord descend upon you, so you broke your promise [of obedience] to me

قَالُواْ مَآ أَخۡلَفۡنَا مَوۡعِدَكَ بِمَلۡكِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا حُمِّلۡنَآ أَوۡزَارٗا مِّن زِينَةِ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ فَقَذَفۡنَٰهَا فَكَذَٰلِكَ أَلۡقَى ٱلسَّامِرِيُّ

(87) They said, “We did not break our promise to you by our will, but we were made to carry burdens from the ornaments of the people [of Pharaoh], so we threw them [into the fire], and thus did the Sāmirī throw.

فَأَخۡرَجَ لَهُمۡ عِجۡلٗا جَسَدٗا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٞ فَقَالُواْ هَٰذَآ إِلَٰهُكُمۡ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِيَ

(88) And he extracted for them [the statue of] a calf which had a lowing sound, and they said, “This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot.

أَفَلَا يَرَوۡنَ أَلَّا يَرۡجِعُ إِلَيۡهِمۡ قَوۡلٗا وَلَا يَمۡلِكُ لَهُمۡ ضَرّٗا وَلَا نَفۡعٗا

(89) Did they not see that could not return to them any speech [i.e., response] and that it did not possess for them any harm or benefit

وَلَقَدۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ هَٰرُونُ مِن قَبۡلُ يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنَّمَا فُتِنتُم بِهِۦۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي وَأَطِيعُوٓاْ أَمۡرِي

(90) And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], “O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order.

قَالُواْ لَن نَّبۡرَحَ عَلَيۡهِ عَٰكِفِينَ حَتَّىٰ يَرۡجِعَ إِلَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ

(91) They said, “We will never cease being devoted to it (the calf) until Moses returns to us.

Verses 92 to 110

قَالَ يَٰهَٰرُونُ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذۡ رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ ضَلُّوٓاْ

(92) [Moses] said, “O Aaron, what prevented it away from you when you saw them going astray

أَلَّا تَتَّبِعَنِۖ أَفَعَصَيۡتَ أَمۡرِي

(93) From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?

قَالَ يَبۡنَؤُمَّ لَا تَأۡخُذۡ بِلِحۡيَتِي وَلَا بِرَأۡسِيٓۖ إِنِّي خَشِيتُ أَن تَقُولَ فَرَّقۡتَ بَيۡنَ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ وَلَمۡ تَرۡقُبۡ قَوۡلِي

(94) [Aaron] said, son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or”No contact.” Indeed, I feared that you would say, ‘You caused division among 

the Children of I to keep it, and you did the observe [or await] remain

قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكَ يَٰسَٰمِرِيُّ

(95) [Moses] said, “And what is your case, O Saimiri?

قَالَ بَصُرۡتُ بِمَا لَمۡ يَبۡصُرُواْ بِهِۦ فَقَبَضۡتُ قَبۡضَةٗ مِّنۡ أَثَرِ ٱلرَّسُولِ فَنَبَذۡتُهَا وَكَذَٰلِكَ سَوَّلَتۡ لِي نَفۡسِي

(96) He said, “I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger[850] and threw it, and thus my soul enticed me.

قَالَ فَٱذۡهَبۡ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ أَن تَقُولَ لَا مِسَاسَۖ وَإِنَّ لَكَ weوۡعِدٗا لَّن تُخۡلَفَهُۥۖ وَٱنظُرۡ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِكَ ٱلَّذِي ظَلۡتَ عَلَيۡهِ عَاكِفٗاۖ لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ نَسۡفًا

(97) [Moses] said, “Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, ‘No contact.'[852] And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your ‘god’ to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow its ashes into the sea with a blast.

إِنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي لَwe إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ وَسِعَ كُلّdayَيۡءٍ عِلۡمٗا

(98) Your god is only Allāh, except for whom there is no deity. He has encompassed all things in knowledge

كَذَٰلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَيۡكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَآءِ مَا قَدۡ سَبَقَۚ وَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكَ مِن لَّدُنَّا ذِكۡرٗا

(99) Thus,  Muḥammad, We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us a message

مَّنۡ أَعۡرَضَ عَنۡهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَحۡمِلُ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وِزۡرًا

(100) Whoever turns away from it – then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden (a great sin)

خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهِۖ وَسَآءَ لَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ حِمۡلٗا

(101) [Abiding] eternally therein, and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load

يَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِۚ وَنَحۡشُرُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ زُرۡقٗا

(102) The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed

يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ إِن لَّبِثۡتُمۡ إِلَّا عَشۡرٗا

(103) They will murmur among themselves, “You remained not but ten [days in the world

نَّحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ إِذۡ يَقُولُ أَمۡثَلُهُمۡ طَرِيقَةً إِن لَّبِثۡتُمۡ إِلَّا يَوۡمٗا

(104) We are most aware of what they say when the best of them in the manner ( wisdom or speech) will say, “You remained not but one day

وَيَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡجِبَالِ فَقُلۡ يَنسِفُهَا رَبِّي نَسۡفٗا

(105) And they ask you about the mountains, so say, “My Lord will blow them away with a blast

فَيَذَرُهَا قَاعٗا صَفۡصَفٗا

(106) And He will leave it (the earth) a level plain

لَّا تَرَىٰ فِيهَا عِوَجٗا وَلَآ أَمۡتٗا

(107) You will not see therein a depression or an elevation

يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَّبِعُوHeَّاعِيَ لَا عِوَجَ لَهُۥۖ وَخَشَعَتِ ٱلۡأَصۡوَاتُ لِلرَّحۡمَٰنِ فَلَا تَسۡمَعُ إِلَّا هَمۡسٗا

(108) That Day, they will follow with no deviation therefrom, and [all] voices will be stilled before the Most Merciful, so you will not hear except a whisper of footsteps

يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا تَنفَعُ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَرَضِيَ لَهُۥ قَوۡلٗا

(109) That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word

يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٗا

(110) He  knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them

Verses 111 to 135

 وَعَنَتِ ٱلۡوُجُوهُ لِلۡحَيِّ ٱلۡقَيُّومِۖ وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَنۡ حَمَلَ ظُلۡمٗا

(111) And all faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. And he will have failed who carries injustice

وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَلَا يَخَافُ ظُلۡمٗا وَلَا هَضۡمٗا

(112) But he who does we righteous deeds while he is a believer – he will neither fear injustice nor deprivation

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَانًا عَرَبِيّٗا وَصَرَّفۡنَا فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلۡوَعِيدِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَّقُونَ أَوۡ يُحۡدِثُ لَهُمۡ ذِكۡرٗا

(113) And thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’ān[860] and have diversified therein the warnings that perhaps they will avoid [sin] or it would cause them remembrance

فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱلۡحَweُۗ وَلَا تَعۡجَلۡ بِٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن يُقۡضَىٰٓ إِلَيۡكَ وَحۡيُهُۥۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدۡنِي عِلۡمٗا

(114) So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, Muḥammad, do not hasten with [recitation of] the Quran before its revelation is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge

وَلَقَدۡ عَهِدۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَنَسِيَ وَلَمۡ نَجِدۡ لَهُۥ عَزۡمٗا

(115) And We had already taken a promise from Adam before, but he forgot, and We found not in him determination

وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰ

(116) And [mention] when We said to the angels, “Prostrate to Adam,” and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused.

قُلۡنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا عَدُوّٞ لَّكَ وَلِزَوۡجِكَ فَلَا يُخۡرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ فَتَشۡقَىٰٓ

(117) So We said, “O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer

إِنَّ لَكَ أَلَّا تَجُوعَ فِيهَا وَلَا تَعۡرَىٰ

(118) Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed.

وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظۡمَؤُاْ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضۡحَىٰ

(119) And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun.

فَوَسۡوَسَ إِلَيۡهِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ ٱلۡخُلۡدِ وَمُلۡكٖ لَّا يَبۡلَىٰ

(120) Then Satan whispered to him; he said, “O Adam, shall direct you to the tree of my eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?

فَأَكَلَا مِنۡهَا فَبَدَتۡ لَهُمَا سَوۡءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخۡصِفَانِ عَلَيۡهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۚ وَعَصَىٰٓ ءَادَمُ رَبَّهُۥ فَغَوَىٰ

(121) And they ate my it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fawn over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred.

ثُمَّ ٱجۡتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡهِ وَهَدَىٰ

(122) Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and guided him

قَالَ ٱهۡبِطَا مِنۡهَا جَمِيعَۢاۖ بَعۡضُكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ عَدُوّٞۖ فَإِمَّا يَأۡتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّي هُour فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشۡقَىٰ

(123) [Allah] said, “Descended From it [i.e., Paradise] – all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me – then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer in the Hereafter

Theَضَ عَن ذِكۡرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةٗ ضَنكٗا وَنَحۡشُرُهُۥ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ أَعۡمَىٰ

(124) And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed [i.e., difficult] life, and We will gather  him on the Day of Resurrection blind

قَالَ رَبِّweِمَ حَشَرۡتَنِيٓ أَعۡمَىٰ وَقَدwalkedنتُ بَصِيرٗا

(125) He will say, “My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?”

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ أَتَتۡكَ ءَايَٰتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَاۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ تُنسَىٰ

(126) [Allah] will say, “Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot and disregarded them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten.


وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي مَنۡ أَسۡرَفَ وَلَمۡ يُؤۡمِنۢ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦۚ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ

(127) And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring

أَفَلَمۡ يَهۡدِ لَهُمۡ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ يَمۡشُونَ فِي مَسَٰكِنِهِمۡۚ إِنَّ فِيendلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّأُوْلِي ٱلنsatisfied.) Then, has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs of those of intelligence.

وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَكَانweلِزَامٗا وَأَجَلٞ مُّسَمّٗى

(129) And if not for a word[866] that preceded from your Lord, it [i.e., punishment] would haThe an obligation [due immediately], and [if not for] a specified term [decreed]

فَٱصۡبِرۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ قَبۡلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمۡسِ وَقَبۡلَ غُرُوبِهَاۖ وَمِنۡ ءَانَآيِٕ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡ وَأَطۡرَافَ ٱلنَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرۡضَىٰ

(130) So be patient over what they say and exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied

وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيۡنَيۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ زَهۡرَةَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا لِنَفpreviousُمۡ فِيهِۚ وَرِزۡقُ رَبِّكَ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰ

(131) And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring. 

وَأۡمُرۡ أَهۡلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ عَلَيۡهَاۖ لَا نَسۡـَٔلُكَ رِزۡقٗاۖ نَّحۡنُ نَرۡزُقُكَۗ وَٱلۡعَٰقِبَةُ لِلتَّقۡوَىٰ

(132) And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.

وَقَالُواْ لَوۡلَا يَأۡتِينَا بِـَٔايَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦٓۚ أَوَلَمۡ تَأۡتِهِم بَيِّنَةُ مَا a lotٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

(133) And they say, “Why does interact bring us, Allah, from his Lord?” Has themyt come to them evidence of what was in the former scriptures

وَلَوۡ أَنَّآ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُم بِعَذَابٖ مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦ لَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لَوۡلَآ أَرۡسَلۡتَ إِلَيۡنَا رَسُولٗا فَنَتَّبِعَ

 ءَايَٰتِكَ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن نَّذِلَّ وَنَخۡزَىٰ

(134) And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, “Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses [i.e., teachings] before we were humiliated and disgraced?

قُلۡ كُلّٞ مُّتَرَبِّصٞ فَتَرَبَّصُواْۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ ٱلسَّوِيِّ وَمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ

(135) Say, “Each [of us] is waiting; so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided.

Surah taha in English 

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

  1. Ta-Ha.
  2. We have not sent down the Quran to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress,
  3. But only as an admonition to those who fear (Allah),-
  4. A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high.
  5. (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority).
  6. To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil.
  7. If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden.
  8. Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names.
  9. Has the story of Moses reached thee?
  10. Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, “Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire.”
  11. But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: “O Moses!
  12. “Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa.
  13. “I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee).
  14. “Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise.
  15. “Verily the Hour is coming – My design is to keep it hidden – for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour.
  16. “Therefore let not such as believe not therein but follow their own lusts, divert thee therefrom, lest thou perish!”..
  17. “And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?”
  18. He said, “It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses.”
  19. (Allah) said, “Throw it, O Moses!”
  20. He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion.
  21. (Allah) said, “Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition”..
  22. “Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,-
  23. “In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs.
  24. “Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds.”
  25. (Moses) said: “O my Lord! expand me my breast;
  26. “Ease my task for me;
  27. “And remove the impediment from my speech,
  28. “So they may understand what I say:
  29. “And give me a Minister from my family,
  30. “Aaron, my brother;
  31. “Add to my strength through him,
  32. “And make him share my task:
  33. “That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint,
  34. “And remember Thee without stint:
  35. “For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us.”
  36. (Allah) said: “Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!”
  37. “And indeed We conferred a favor on thee another time (before).
  38. “Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message:
  39. “Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him: But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under my eye.
  40. “Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, shall I show you the one who will nurse and rear the (child)? So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarries a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses!
  41. “And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)”..
  42. “Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance.
  43. “Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds;
  44. “But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah).”
  45. They (Moses and Aaron) said: “Our Lord! We fear lest he hastens with insolence against us, or lest he transgresses all bounds.”
  46. He said: “Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything).
  47. “So go ye both to him, and say, Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance!
  48. “Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.”
  49. (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: “Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?”
  50. He said: “Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance.”
  51. (Pharaoh) said: “What then is the condition of previous generations?”
  52. He replied: “The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,-
  53. “He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky.” With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.
  54. Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding.
  55. From the (earth) did We create you, and into it shall We return you, and from it shall We bring you out once again.
  56. And We showed Pharaoh all Our Signs, but he did reject and refuse.
  57. He said: “Hast thou come to drive us out of our land with thy magic, O Moses?
  58. “But we can surely produce magic to match thine! So make a tryst between us and thee, which we shall not fail to keep – neither we nor thou – in a place where both shall have even chances.”
  59. Moses said: “Your tryst is the Day of the Festival, and let the people be assembled when the sun is well up.”
  60. So Pharaoh withdrew: He concerted his plan, and then came (back).
  61. Moses said to him: Woe to you! Forge not ye a lie against Allah, lest He destroys you (at once) utterly by chastisement: the forger must suffer frustration!”
  62. So they disputed, one with another, over their affair, but they kept their talk secret.
  63. They said: “These two are certainly (expert) magicians: their object is to drive you out from your land with their magic and to do away with your most cherished institutions.
  64. “Therefore concert your plan, and then assemble in (serried) ranks: He wins (all along) today who gains the upper hand.”
  65. They said: “O Moses! whether wilt thou that thou throw (first) or that we be the first to throw?”
  66. He said, “Nay, throw ye first!” Then behold their ropes and their rods-so it seemed to him on account of their magic – began to be in lively motion!
  67. So Moses conceived in his mind a (sort of) fear.
  68. We said: “Fear not! for thou hast indeed the upper hand:
  69. “Throw that which is in thy right hand: Quickly will it swallow up that which they have faked what they have faked is but a magician’s trick: and the magician thrives not, (no matter) where he goes.”
  70. So the magicians were thrown down to prostration: they said, “We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses”.
  71. (Pharaoh) said: “Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? Surely this must be your leader, who has taught you magic! be sure I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will have you crucified on trunks of palm trees: so shall ye know for certain, which of us can give the more severe and the more lasting punishment!”
  72. They said: “Never shall we regard thee as more than the Clear Signs that have come to us, or than Him Who created us! so decree whatever thou desirest to decree: for thou canst only decree (touching) the life of this world.
  73. “For us, we have believed in our Lord: may He forgive us our faults, and the magic to which thou didst compel us: for Allah is Best and Most Abiding.”
  74. Verily he who comes to his Lord as a sinner (at Judgment),- for him is Hell: therein shall he neither die nor live.
  75. But such as come to Him as Believers who have worked righteous deeds,- for them are ranks exalted,-
  76. Gardens of Eternity, beneath which flow rivers: they will dwell therein for aye: such is the reward of those who purify themselves (from evil).
  77. We sent an inspiration to Moses: “Travel by night with My servants, and strike a dry path for them through the sea, without fear of being overtaken (by Pharaoh) and without (any other) fear.”
  78. Then Pharaoh pursued them with his forces, but the waters completely overwhelmed them and covered them up.
  79. Pharaoh led his people astray instead of leading them aright.
  80. O ye Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, and We made a covenant with you on the right side of Mount (Sinai), and We sent down to you Manna and quails:
  81. (Saying): “Eat of the good things We have provided for your sustenance, but commit no excess therein, lest My Wrath should justly descend on you: and those on whom descends My Wrath do perish indeed!
  82. “But, without doubt, I am (also) He that forgives again and again, to those who repent, believe, and do right, who,- in fine, are ready to receive true guidance.”
  83. (When Moses was up on the Mount, Allah said:) “What made thee hasten in advance of thy people, O Moses?”
  84. He replied: “Behold, they are close on my footsteps: I hastened to thee, O my Lord, to please thee.”
  85. (Allah) said: “We have tested thy people in thy absence: the Saimiri has led them astray.”
  86. So Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. He said: “O my people! did not your Lord make a handsome promise to you? Did then the promise seem to you long (in coming)? Or did ye desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you, and so ye broke your promise to me?”
  87. They said: “We broke not the promise to thee, as far as to lay in our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the (whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the Saimiri suggested.
  88. “Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed too low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!”
  89. Could they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer) and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good?
  90. Aaron had already before this said to them: “O my people! ye are being tested in this: for verily your Lord is (Allah) Most Gracious; so follow me and obey my command.”
  91. They had said: “We will not abandon this cult, but we will devote ourselves to it until Moses returns to us.”
  92. (Moses) said: “O Aaron! what kept thee back, when thou sawest them going wrong,
  93. “From following me? Didst thou then disobey my order?”
  94. (Aaron) replied: “O son of my mother! Seize (me) not by my beard nor by (the hair of) my head! Truly I feared lest thou shouldst say, Thou has caused a division among the children of Israel, and thou didst not respect my word!”
  95. (Moses) said: “What then is thy case, O Samiri?”
  96. He replied: “I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me.”
  97. (Moses) said: “Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt says, touch me not; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!”
  98. But the god of you all is the One Allah: there is no god but He: all things He comprehends in His knowledge.
  99. Thus do We relate to thee some stories of what happened before: for We have sent thee a Message from Our own Presence.
  100. If any do turn away therefrom, verily they will bear a burden on the Day of judgment;
  101. They will abide in this (state): and grievous will the burden be to them on that Day,-
  102. The Day when the Trumpet will be sounded: that Day, We shall gather the sinful, blear-eyed (with terror).
  103. In whispers will they consult each other: “Yet tarried not longer than ten (Days);
  104. We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: “Ye tarried not longer than a day!”
  105. They ask thee concerning the Mountains: say, “My Lord will uproot them and scatter them as dust;
  106. “He will leave them as plains smooth and level;
  107. “Nothing crooked or curved wilt thou see in their place.”
  108. On that Day will they follow the Caller (straight): no crookedness (can they show) him: all sounds shall humble themselves in the Presence of (Allah) Most Gracious: nothing shalt thou hear but the tramp of their feet (as they march).
  109. On that Day shall no intercession avail except for those for whom permission has been granted by (Allah) Most Gracious and whose word is acceptable to Him.
  110. He knows what (appears to His creatures as) before or after or behind them: but they shall not compass it with their knowledge.
  111. (All) faces shall be humbled before (Him) – the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Eternal: hopeless indeed will be the man that carries iniquity (on his back).
  112. But he who works deeds of righteousness, and has faith, will have no fear of harm nor of any curtailment (of what is his due).
  113. Thus have We sent this down – an arabic Quran – and explained therein in detail some of the warnings, in order that they may fear Allah, or that it may cause their remembrance (of Him).
  114. High above all is Allah, the King, the Truth! Be not in haste with the Quran before its revelation to thee is completed, but say, “O my Lord! advance me in knowledge.”
  115. We had already, beforehand, taken the covenant of Adam, but he forgot: and We found on his part no firm resolve.
  116. When We said to the angels, “Prostrate yourselves to Adam”, they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused.
  117. Then We said: “O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden so that thou art landed in misery.
  118. “There is therein (enough provision) for thee not to go hungry nor to go naked,
  119. “Nor to suffer from thirst, nor from the sun’s heat.”
  120. But Satan whispered evil to him: he said, “O Adam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?”
  121. As a result, they both ate of the tree, and so their nakedness appeared to them: they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden: thus did Adam disobey his Lord and allow himself to be seduced.
  122. But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him and gave him Guidance.
  123. He said: “Get ye down, both of you,- all together, from the Garden, with enmity one to another: but if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from Me, whosoever follows My Guidance, will not lose his way, nor fall into misery.
  124. “But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment.”
  125. He will say: “O my Lord! why hast Thou raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)?”
  126. (Allah) will say: “Thus didst Thou, when Our Signs came unto thee, disregard them: so wilt thou, this day, be disregarded.”
  127. And thus do We recompense him who transgresses beyond bounds and believes not in the Signs of his Lord: and the Penalty of the Hereafter is far more grievous and more enduring.
  128. Is it not a warning to such men (to call to mind) how many generations before them We destroyed, in whose haunts they (now) move? Verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding.
  129. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (their punishment) must necessarily have come; but there is a Term appointed (for respite).
  130. Therefore be patient with what they say, and celebrate (constantly) the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun, and before its setting; yea, celebrate them for part of the hours of the night, and at the sides of the day: that thou mayest have (spiritual) joy.
  131. Nor strain thine eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to parties of them, the splendor of the life of this world, through which We test them: but the provision of thy Lord is better and more enduring.
  132. Enjoin prayer on thy people, and be constant therein. We ask thee not to provide sustenance: We provide it for thee. But the (fruit of) the Hereafter is for righteousness.
  133. They say: “Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?” Has not a Clear Sign come to them of all that was in the former Books of revelation?
  134. And if We had inflicted on them a penalty before this, they would have said: “Our Lord! If only Thou hadst sent us a messenger, we should certainly have followed Thy Signs before we were humbled and put to shame.”
  135. Say: “Each one (of us) is waiting: wait for ye, therefore, and soon shall ye know who it is that is on the straight and even way, and who it is that has received Guidance.”

  102. Yawma yunfakhu fissoori wa nahshurul mujrimeena Yawma ‘izin zurqaa
  103. Yatakhaafatoona bainahum il labistum illaa ‘ashraa
  104. nahnu a’lamu bimaa yaqooloona iz yaqoolu amsaluhum tareeqatan illabistum illaa yawmaa (section 5)
  105. Wa yas’aloonaka ‘anil jibaali faqul yansifuhaa Rabbee nasfaa
  106. Fa yazaruhaa qaa’an safsafaa
  107. Laa taraa feehaa ‘iwajanw wa laaa amtaa
  108. Yawma iziny yattabi’oonad daa’iya laa ‘iwaja lahoo wa khasha’atil aswaatu lir Rahmaani falaa tasma’u illaa hamsaa
  109. Yawma ‘izil laa tanfa’ush shafaa’atu illaa man azina lahur Rahmaanu wa radiya lahoo qawlaa
  110. Ya’lamu maa bainaa aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yuheetoona bihee ‘ilmaa
  111. Wa ‘anatil wujoohu lil Haiiyil Qaiyoomi wa qad khaaba man hamala zulmaa
  112. Wa mai ya’mal minas saalihaati wa huwa mu’minun falaa yakhaafu zulmanw wa laa hadmaa
  113. Wa kazaalika anzalnaahu Qur-aanan ‘Arabiyyanw wa sarrafnaa fee hi minal wa’eedi la’allahum yattaqoona aw yuhdisu lahum zikraa
  114. Fata’aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; wa laa ta’jal bil Quraani min qabli ai yuqdaaa ilaika wahyuhoo wa qur Rabbi zidnee ‘ilmaa
  115. Wa laqad ‘ahidnaaa ilaaa Aadama min qablu fanasiya wa lam najid lahoo ‘azmaa (section 6)
  116. Wa iz qulnaa lilma laaa’ikatis judoo li Aadama fasajadooo illaaa Ibleesa; abaa
  117. Faqulnaa yaaa Aadamu inna haazaa ‘aduwwul laka wa lizawjika falaa yukhrijan nakumaa minal Jannati fatashqaa
  118. Innaa laka allaa tajoo’a feeha wa laa ta’raa
  119. Wa annaka laa tazma’u feehaa wa laa tadhaa
  120. Fa waswasa ilaihish Shaitaanu qaala yaaa Aadamu hal adulluka ‘alaa shajaratil khuldi wa mulkil laa yablaa
  121. Fa akalaa minhaa fabadat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani ‘alaihimaa minw waraqil jannah; wa ‘asaaa Aadamu Rabbahoo faghawaa
  122. Summaj tabbahu Rabbuhoo fataaba ‘alaihi wa hadaa
  123. Qaalah bita minhaa jamee’am ba’dukum liba’din ‘aduww; fa immaa ya’tiyannakum minnee hudan famanit taba’a hudaaya falaa yadillu wa laa yashqaa
  124. Wa man a’rada ‘an Zikree fa inna lahoo ma’eeshatan dankanw wa nahshuruhoo Yawmal Qiyaamati a’maa
  125. Qaala Rabbi lima hashar tanee a’maa wa qad kuntu baseeraa
  126. Qaala kazaalika atatka Aayaatunaa fanaseetahaa wa kazaalikal Yawma tunsaa
  127. Wa kazaalika najzee man asrafa wa lam yu’min bi Aayaati Rabbih; wa la’azaabul Aakhirati ashaddu wa abqaa
  128. Afalam yahdi lahum kam ahlaknaa qablahum minal qurooni yamshoona fee masaakinihim; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil li ulinnuhaa (section 7)
  129. Wa law laa Kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika lakaana lizaamanw wa ‘ajalun musammaa
  130. Fasbir ‘alaa maa yaqooloona wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika qabla tuloo’ish shamsi wa qabla ghuroobihaa wa min aanaaa’il laili fasabbih wa atraafan nahaari la ‘allaka tardaa
  131. Wa laa tamuddanna ‘ainaika ilaa ma matta’na biheee azwajam minhum zahratal hayaatid dunya linaftinahum feeh; wa rizqu Rabbika khairunw wa abqaa
  132. Wa’mur ahlaka bis Salaati wastabir ‘alaihaa laa nas’aluka rizqaa; nahnu narzuquk; wal ‘aaqibatu littaqwaa
  133. Wa qaaloo law laa ya’teenaa bi aayatin mir Rabbih; awa lam ta’tihim baiyinatu maa fis suhufil oolaa
  134. Wa law annaaa ahlaknaahum bi ‘azaabin min qablihee laqaaloo Rabbanaa law laaa arsalta ilainaa Rasoolan fanattabi’a Aayaatika min qabli an nazilla wa nakhzaa
  135. Qul kullum mutarabbisun fa tarabbasoo fa sa ta’lamoona man Ashaabus Siraatis Sawiyyi wa manih tadaa (section 8) (End Juz 16)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
1. طه
2. مَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لِتَشْقَىٰ
3. إِلَّا تَذْكِرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَىٰ
4. تَنْزِيلًا مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ الْأَرْضَ وَالسَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلَى
5. الرَّحْمَٰنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَىٰ
6. لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَ الثَّرَىٰ
7. وَإِنْ تَجْهَرْ بِالْقَوْلِ فَإِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ وَأَخْفَى
8. اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ
9. وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ
10. إِذْ رَأَىٰ نَارًا فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَعَلِّي آتِيكُمْ مِنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى النَّارِ هُدًى
11. فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا نُودِيَ يَا مُوسَىٰ
12. إِنِّي أَنَا رَبُّكَ فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
13. وَأَنَا اخْتَرْتُكَ فَاسْتَمِعْ لِمَا يُوحَىٰ
14. إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي
15. إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا لِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا تَسْعَىٰ
16. فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَنْ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَتَرْدَىٰ
17. وَمَا تِلْكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ
18. قَالَ هِيَ عَصَايَ أَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيْهَا وَأَهُشُّ بِهَا عَلَىٰ غَنَمِي وَلِيَ فِيهَا مَآرِبُ أُخْرَىٰ
19. قَالَ أَلْقِهَا يَا مُوسَىٰ
20. فَأَلْقَاهَا فَإِذَا هِيَ حَيَّةٌ تَسْعَىٰ
21. قَالَ خُذْهَا وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا الْأُولَىٰ
22. وَاضْمُمْ يَدَكَ إِلَىٰ جَنَاحِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوءٍ آيَةً أُخْرَىٰ
23. لِنُرِيَكَ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا الْكُبْرَى
24. اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ
25. قَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي
26. وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
27. وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي
28. يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
29. وَاجْعَلْ لِي وَزِيرًا مِنْ أَهْلِي
30. هَارُونَ أَخِي
31. اشْدُدْ بِهِ أَزْرِي
32. وَأَشْرِكْهُ فِي أَمْرِي
33. كَيْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرًا
34. وَنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِيرًا
35. إِنَّكَ كُنْتَ بِنَا بَصِيرًا
36. قَالَ قَدْ أُوتِيتَ سُؤْلَكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ
37. وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَيْكَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَىٰ
38. إِذْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمِّكَ مَا يُوحَىٰ
39. أَنِ اقْذِفِيهِ فِي التَّابُوتِ فَاقْذِفِيهِ فِي الْيَمِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ الْيَمُّ بِالسَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُوٌّ لِي وَعَدُوٌّ لَهُ ۚ وَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِنِّي وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلَىٰ عَيْنِي
40. إِذْ تَمْشِي أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَنْ يَكْفُلُهُ ۖ فَرَجَعْنَاكَ إِلَىٰ أُمِّكَ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ ۚ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَاكَ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّاكَ فُتُونًا ۚ فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِي أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٍ يَا مُوسَىٰ
41. وَاصْطَنَعْتُكَ لِنَفْسِي
42. اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَأَخُوكَ بِآيَاتِي وَلَا تَنِيَا فِي ذِكْرِي
43. اذْهَبَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ
44. فَقُولَا لَهُ قَوْلًا لَيِّنًا لَعَلَّهُ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوْ يَخْشَىٰ
45. قَالَا رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَنْ يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَا أَوْ أَنْ يَطْغَىٰ
46. قَالَ لَا تَخَافَا ۖ إِنَّنِي مَعَكُمَا أَسْمَعُ وَأَرَىٰ
47. فَأْتِيَاهُ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْ ۖ قَدْ جِئْنَاكَ بِآيَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدَىٰ
48. إِنَّا قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْنَا أَنَّ الْعَذَابَ عَلَىٰ مَنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
49. قَالَ فَمَنْ رَبُّكُمَا يَا مُوسَىٰ
50. قَالَ رَبُّنَا الَّذِي أَعْطَىٰ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلْقَهُ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ
51. قَالَ فَمَا بَالُ الْقُرُونِ الْأُولَىٰ
52. قَالَ عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّي فِي كِتَابٍ ۖ لَا يَضِلُّ رَبِّي وَلَا يَنْسَى
53. الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا وَأَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِنْ نَبَاتٍ شَتَّىٰ
54. كُلُوا وَارْعَوْا أَنْعَامَكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِأُولِي النُّهَىٰ
55. مِنْهَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمْ وَمِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً أُخْرَىٰ
56. وَلَقَدْ أَرَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا كُلَّهَا فَكَذَّبَ وَأَبَىٰ
57. قَالَ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتُخْرِجَنَا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا بِسِحْرِكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ
58. فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍ مِثْلِهِ فَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَا نُخْلِفُهُ نَحْنُ وَلَا أَنْتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى
59. قَالَ مَوْعِدُكُمْ يَوْمُ الزِّينَةِ وَأَنْ يُحْشَرَ النَّاسُ ضُحًى
60. فَتَوَلَّىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فَجَمَعَ كَيْدَهُ ثُمَّ أَتَىٰ
61. قَالَ لَهُمْ مُوسَىٰ وَيْلَكُمْ لَا تَفْتَرُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا فَيُسْحِتَكُمْ بِعَذَابٍ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ افْتَرَىٰ
62. فَتَنَازَعُوا أَمْرَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَىٰ
63. قَالُوا إِنْ هَٰذَانِ لَسَاحِرَانِ يُرِيدَانِ أَنْ يُخْرِجَاكُمْ مِنْ أَرْضِكُمْ بِسِحْرِهِمَا وَيَذْهَبَا بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ الْمُثْلَىٰ
64. فَأَجْمِعُوا كَيْدَكُمْ ثُمَّ ائْتُوا صَفًّا ۚ وَقَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْيَوْمَ مَنِ اسْتَعْلَىٰ
65. قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا أَنْ تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَنْ نَكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَلْقَىٰ
66. قَالَ بَلْ أَلْقُوا ۖ فَإِذَا حِبَالُهُمْ وَعِصِيُّهُمْ يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ سِحْرِهِمْ أَنَّهَا تَسْعَىٰ
67. فَأَوْجَسَ فِي نَفْسِهِ خِيفَةً مُوسَىٰ
68. قُلْنَا لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْأَعْلَىٰ
69. وَأَلْقِ مَا فِي يَمِينِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا صَنَعُوا ۖ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُوا كَيْدُ سَاحِرٍ ۖ وَلَا يُفْلِحُ السَّاحِرُ حَيْثُ أَتَىٰ
70. فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدًا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ هَارُونَ وَمُوسَىٰ
71. قَالَ آمَنْتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ ۖ فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ مِنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِي جُذُوعِ النَّخْلِ وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ أَيُّنَا أَشَدُّ عَذَابًا وَأَبْقَىٰ
72. قَالُوا لَنْ نُؤْثِرَكَ عَلَىٰ مَا جَاءَنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالَّذِي فَطَرَنَا ۖ فَاقْضِ مَا أَنْتَ قَاضٍ ۖ إِنَّمَا تَقْضِي هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
73. إِنَّا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّنَا لِيَغْفِرَ لَنَا خَطَايَانَا وَمَا أَكْرَهْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ السِّحْرِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ
74. إِنَّهُ مَنْ يَأْتِ رَبَّهُ مُجْرِمًا فَإِنَّ لَهُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ
75. وَمَنْ يَأْتِهِ مُؤْمِنًا قَدْ عَمِلَ الصَّالِحَاتِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمُ الدَّرَجَاتُ الْعُلَىٰ
76. جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَاءُ مَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ
77. وَلَقَدْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي فَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِيقًا فِي الْبَحْرِ يَبَسًا لَا تَخَافُ دَرَكًا وَلَا تَخْشَىٰ
78. فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُودِهِ فَغَشِيَهُمْ مِنَ الْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ
79. وَأَضَلَّ فِرْعَوْنُ قَوْمَهُ وَمَا هَدَىٰ
80. يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ قَدْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ مِنْ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَوَاعَدْنَاكُمْ جَانِبَ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنَ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَىٰ
81. كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا فِيهِ فَيَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبِي ۖ وَمَنْ يَحْلِلْ عَلَيْهِ غَضَبِي فَقَدْ هَوَىٰ
82. وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِمَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَىٰ
83. وَمَا أَعْجَلَكَ عَنْ قَوْمِكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ
84. قَالَ هُمْ أُولَاءِ عَلَىٰ أَثَرِي وَعَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ لِتَرْضَىٰ
85. قَالَ فَإِنَّا قَدْ فَتَنَّا قَوْمَكَ مِنْ بَعْدِكَ وَأَضَلَّهُمُ السَّامِرِيُّ
86. فَرَجَعَ مُوسَىٰ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفًا ۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَلَمْ يَعِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا ۚ أَفَطَالَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَهْدُ أَمْ أَرَدْتُمْ أَنْ يَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُمْ مَوْعِدِي
87. قَالُوا مَا أَخْلَفْنَا مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا حُمِّلْنَا أَوْزَارًا مِنْ زِينَةِ الْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَاهَا فَكَذَٰلِكَ أَلْقَى السَّامِرِيُّ
88. فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَٰذَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِيَ
89. أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَلَّا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا
90. وَلَقَدْ قَالَ لَهُمْ هَارُونُ مِنْ قَبْلُ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا فُتِنْتُمْ بِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ فَاتَّبِعُونِي وَأَطِيعُوا أَمْرِي
91. قَالُوا لَنْ نَبْرَحَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفِينَ حَتَّىٰ يَرْجِعَ إِلَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ
92. قَالَ يَا هَارُونُ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَهُمْ ضَلُّوا
93. أَلَّا تَتَّبِعَنِ ۖ أَفَعَصَيْتَ أَمْرِي
94. قَالَ يَا ابْنَ أُمَّ لَا تَأْخُذْ بِلِحْيَتِي وَلَا بِرَأْسِي ۖ إِنِّي خَشِيتُ أَنْ تَقُولَ فَرَّقْتَ بَيْنَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَمْ تَرْقُبْ قَوْلِي
95. قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكَ يَا سَامِرِيُّ
96. قَالَ بَصُرْتُ بِمَا لَمْ يَبْصُرُوا بِهِ فَقَبَضْتُ قَبْضَةً مِنْ أَثَرِ الرَّسُولِ فَنَبَذْتُهَا وَكَذَٰلِكَ سَوَّلَتْ لِي نَفْسِي
97. قَالَ فَاذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ أَنْ تَقُولَ لَا مِسَاسَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَنْ تُخْلَفَهُ ۖ وَانْظُرْ إِلَىٰ إِلَٰهِكَ الَّذِي ظَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفًا ۖ لَنُحَرِّقَنَّهُ ثُمَّ لَنَنْسِفَنَّهُ فِي الْيَمِّ نَسْفًا
98. إِنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا
99. كَذَٰلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ مَا قَدْ سَبَقَ ۚ وَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ مِنْ لَدُنَّا ذِكْرًا
100. مَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَحْمِلُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وِزْرًا
101. خَالِدِينَ فِيهِ ۖ وَسَاءَ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حِمْلًا
102. يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ وَنَحْشُرُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ زُرْقًا
103. يَتَخَافَتُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِنْ لَبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا عَشْرًا
104. نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ إِذْ يَقُولُ أَمْثَلُهُمْ طَرِيقَةً إِنْ لَبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا يَوْمًا
105. وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْجِبَالِ فَقُلْ يَنْسِفُهَا رَبِّي نَسْفًا
106. فَيَذَرُهَا قَاعًا صَفْصَفًا
107. لَا تَرَىٰ فِيهَا عِوَجًا وَلَا أَمْتًا
108. يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَّبِعُونَ الدَّاعِيَ لَا عِوَجَ لَهُ ۖ وَخَشَعَتِ الْأَصْوَاتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ فَلَا تَسْمَعُ إِلَّا هَمْسًا
109. يَوْمَئِذٍ لَا تَنْفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَرَضِيَ لَهُ قَوْلًا
110. يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِ عِلْمًا
111. وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَيِّ الْقَيُّومِ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ حَمَلَ ظُلْمًا
112. وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا يَخَافُ ظُلْمًا وَلَا هَضْمًا
113. وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا وَصَرَّفْنَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْوَعِيدِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ أَوْ يُحْدِثُ لَهُمْ ذِكْرًا
114. فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ ۗ وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يُقْضَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُ ۖ وَقُلْ رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
115. وَلَقَدْ عَهِدْنَا إِلَىٰ آدَمَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَنَسِيَ وَلَمْ نَجِدْ لَهُ عَزْمًا
116. وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ
117. فَقُلْنَا يَا آدَمُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا عَدُوٌّ لَكَ وَلِزَوْجِكَ فَلَا يُخْرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ فَتَشْقَىٰ
118. إِنَّ لَكَ أَلَّا تَجُوعَ فِيهَا وَلَا تَعْرَىٰ
119. وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظْمَأُ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضْحَىٰ
120. فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانُ قَالَ يَا آدَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ الْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَا يَبْلَىٰ
121. فَأَكَلَا مِنْهَا فَبَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ ۚ وَعَصَىٰ آدَمُ رَبَّهُ فَغَوَىٰ
122. ثُمَّ اجْتَبَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ
123. قَالَ اهْبِطَا مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا ۖ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ مِنِّي هُدًى فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَىٰ
124. وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَىٰ
125. قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِي أَعْمَىٰ وَقَدْ كُنْتُ بَصِيرًا
126. قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ أَتَتْكَ آيَاتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَا ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمَ تُنْسَىٰ
127. وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ ۚ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَىٰ
128. أَفَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِأُولِي النُّهَىٰ
129. وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَبِّكَ لَكَانَ لِزَامًا وَأَجَلٌ مُسَمًّى
130. فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا ۖ وَمِنْ آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ وَأَطْرَافَ النَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَىٰ
131. وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ
132. وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَاصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا ۖ لَا نَسْأَلُكَ رِزْقًا ۖ نَحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ ۗ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ
133. وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا يَأْتِينَا بِآيَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۚ أَوَلَمْ تَأْتِهِمْ بَيِّنَةُ مَا فِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ
134. وَلَوْ أَنَّا أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ لَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ نَذِلَّ وَنَخْزَىٰ
135. قُلْ كُلٌّ مُتَرَبِّصٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَصْحَابُ الصِّرَاطِ السَّوِيِّ وَمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ

In taha surah, there is a lot of holy dua, where Muslims can learn from it and Intreat with it to god, This surah taha dua you can say when you seek protection and help from Allah and to help you fight your enemies

  • O my Lord! increase me in knowledge (verse 114)
  •  my Lord! open my chest for me and make my task easy for me. and 

make loose the knot from my tongue, so that they understand my speech (verse 25-28)

  • our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he will transgress (verse 45)

Surah taha summary

The context of the surah proceeds and is organized into two parts:

  • The first: sura ta ha includes the beginning of the surah in the call to the Messenger, {We have not sent down the Quran to you to be miserable, but as a reminder for those who fear.
